Many people know of Vinny Ten for his Import Drag Racing history. While Vinny Ten Racing comes with this history, it also comes with the knowledge of 30 years of import turbo charging and tuning. Vinny and all of the techs here at VTR know what it’s like to run factory backed race teams, build the quickest and fastest race cars and develop any race engine platform available today. With an AWD Eddy current DYNOJET Dyno and a 7,000 sq. foot super clean, ultra modern facility, VTR is a complete performance, service, retail and tuning facility!


VTR specializes in Hydra Engine Management Systems and Cobb Tuning products as well as many other tuning software platforms. In house VTR has full fabrication abilities and can complete any automotive task big or small. From complete engine services and the ability to diagnose the most complicated problems right down to all out full custom race engines. But more then anything else we also take care of basic service needs. Routine maintenance, clutches, brakes, etc, we do it all!


We treat every car that is at our shop with the utmost respect. Your car is never taken on a joyride and is always cared for like it’s our very own. Cars are kept inside at night and always under the most strict lock, key, video and alarm. We obviously are here to earn your trust as we have been doing for the past 18 years in business. FOR THE PAST 25 YEARS, VINNY TEN HAS BEEN BUILDING TURBO CHARGED, IMPORT MULTI-VALVE ENGINES. VINNY HAS BEEN IMPORT’S TOP PIONEER IN RACING AND ENGINE BUILDING. HE IS THE FIRST U.S. ENGINE BUILDER TO BREAK 1000 H.P. BARRIER IN THE 1999 – 2000 SEASONS WITH A TOYOTA 2JZ INLINE 6. HE HAS ALSO BEEN THE FIRST 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 SECOND TOYOTA SUPRA AND THE FIRST TO BREAK 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180 AND 190 MPH BARRIERS!

FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS, VINNY TEN HAS BEEN BUILDING, RESEARCHING, DEVELOPING HIS OWN BRAND OF PARTS & ENGINES FOR THE V.Q. ENGINES. WHILE MY COMPETITORS HAVE BEEN HITTING THE KEYBOARDS ABOUT HOW GOOD THEIR ENGINES ARE WE HAVE BEEN PROVING IT. WE HAVE TESTED, PRODUCED AND PROVEN OUR ENGINES ON THE DRAG STRIP WITH AN 1800 H.P. (6.63 @215MPH) ENGINE ON METHANOL. WE PRODUCED 1300 H.P. (8.33 @176MPH) ENGINE ON C16 GASOLINE. WE HAD AN S.C.C.A. TWIN TURBO CAR GO TO 12 EVENTS WITHOUT ONE D.N.F. (DID NOT FINISH) THE WHOLE SEASON AND WE HAVE MADE OVER 370 DYNO RUNS/PULLS ON OUR SHOP CAR. WE HAVE TESTED, RETESTED & DOUBLE TESTED ALL OF OUR ENGINE PACKAGES & PRODUCTS TO PERFORM AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF MOTORSPORTS AND WIN WITHOUT THE DRAMA & HEADACHES OF OVERHEATING, BLOWING HEAD GASKETS & SPINNING BEARINGS. CURRENTLY, VINNY HAS THE WORLD’S QUICKEST & FASTEST TOYOTA SUPRA 7.30 SECONDS @ 191 MPH AT 2850 LBS., WHICH PRODUCED 1600 H.P. ON VP C-16 GASOLINE AND 61 MM TURBOS! STILL TO THIS DAY, THIS IN THE MOST POWER MADE WITH A 2JZ ENGINE ON GASOLINE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, AND STILL HOLDS THE RECORD FOR THE QUICKEST & FASTEST SUPRA FROM 1997 – 2007!

THE VQ STORY

PERFORMANCE MOTORSPORTS HIRED VINNY IN 2004 TO DEVELOP THEIR RACE TEAM, WHICH INCLUDED THEIR STREET TIRE CAR TO RUN IN THE NOPI SERIES, AND TO BUILD A COMPLETELY NEW CAR, A N.H.R.A. PRO IMPORT CAR. VINNY DEVELOPED PARTS WITH SOME OF THE “BEST OF THE BEST” MANUFACTURES, LIKE C.P. PISTONS, CARRILLO INDUSTRIES, FERREA RACING, TOTAL SEAL RINGS, BRYANT CRANKSHAFTS, AND DARTON SLEEVES. VINNY TOOK THESE PARTS AND IN HIS 1ST ATTEMPT AT BUILDING A VQ 35, DESIGNED AND BUILT A NEW ENGINE IN JUST 27 DAYS AND PRODUCED HIS FIRST VQ ENGINE. VINNY STARTED TO REPEAT HISTORY WHEN THE PERFORMANCE MOTORSPORT 350Z STARTED TO SET RECORDS. NEW RECORDS FOR A 350Z QUICKLY BECAME THE FIRST Z TO ALSO BREAK THE 11, 10, 9, & 8 SECOND BARRIERS AS WELL AS THE FIRST 350Z TO BREAK THE 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170 M.P.H. BARRIER AS WELL. IN THE END WITH ALL HIS EXPERIENCE AND HARD WORK, IN OCTOBER 2004, HE PRODUCED A 350Z ENGINE THAT RAN AN AMAZING 8.33 SECONDS @ 176 MPH ON GOODYEAR DRAG RADIAL TIRES. THIS RECORD STILL STANDS TODAY!

VINNY DID NOT REST THERE AND VINNY KNEW IF HE HAD JUST A LITTLE MORE TIME HE WOULD PRODUCE EVEN MORE HORSEPOWER, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID. VINNY BUILT THE NEXT GENERATION OF V.Q ENGINES, HIS GOAL WAS 1800 H.P. THE TEAM PUT VINNY’S ENGINE IN THE NEWLY BUILT PRO IMPORT CHASSIS AND IN OCTOBER OF 2005 AT ENGLISHTOWN N.H.R.A. FALL NATIONALS IN FRONT OF 20,000 IMPORT RACING FANS VINNY DID SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE, NOT ONLY IN N.H.R.A. HISTORY BUT IN NISSANS RACING HISTORY ON ANY CONTINENT, VINNY BECAME THE FIRST PERSON EVER TO BREAK BOTH THE 6 SEC/200 MPH MARK BY SETTING A NEW WORLD RECORD FOR BOTH NISSAN AND N.H.R.A. WITH AN INCREDIBLE 6.63 @ 215MPH A RECORD THAT STILL STANDS TODAY! VINNY HAS CONTINUED HIS WINNING PACE AT HIS NEW LOCATION AND SET OUT TO BUILD STEVE GILBERTS S.C.C.A. ROAD RACING CAR. VINNY BUILT A B/PREPARED CAR FOR COMPETITION IN 2006 AND COMPETE WE DID, TAKING A FIRST PLACE AT THE 47TH ANNUAL WEATHERLY HILLCLIMB. NOT ONLY DID STEVE WIN, HE WAS THE FIRST ROOKIE DRIVER EVER TO RUN UNDER ONE MINUTE ON THE COURSE AND THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN 14 CARS TO EVER RUN UNDER ONE MINUTE IN 47 YRS. STEVE SITS AT THE 12 SPOT, AN AMAZING ACCOMPLISHMENT! FROM A GREAT DRIVING JOB TO VINNY’S STAGE THREE-ENGINE PACKAGE, AND THE SKILLED CRAFTSMEN AT VTR, THE ONLY CHOICE FOR YOUR ENGINE DEMANDS!
